Using Canvas Modules

Sample Canvas Course

This course, built live in Canvas, is a sample of my soup to nuts instructional design process. In order to enroll in this course, you will need to log in through your Canvas account. If you do not have an existing account, you can create a free Canvas account.

In the development of this course, I demonstrate the following competencies.

Devise learning objectives to provide students with a map for success.
Write the instructional text based on my curriculum development, teaching, and learning experiences.
Design graphic assets including headers and buttons in Adobe Illustrator.
Author interactive eLessons in Articulate Rise and Canva to deliver content.
Deploy eLessons using SCORM and HTML embeds.
Record a screen capture to demonstrate a process.
Develop assessments to check knowledge and allow students to apply it.
Curate relevant resources to enhance student knowledge.

Course Description

This self-paced online course introduces Canvas Modules and how they can support student learning in an online or hybrid classroom.

Learning Objectives

After completing this course, students will be able to:

Describe a Canvas Module.
Explain the benefits of using Modules in a Canvas course.
Compare the student experience of a course that uses Modules to one that does not.
Create a Module and populate it with content such as pages, assignments, quizzes, etc.
